I have fished since the age of 7, initially course and sea fishing and latterly Game fishing. I occasionally wet a line on a course fishery but these days I prefer to fish with a fly.
I have fly fished in various trout waters including, lakes and reservoirs, Chalk Streams of Southern England, Rivers of Wales & Ireland. I have also fished for Salmon on the Rivers Spey, Annan, Urr, and Tay in Scotland and wormed for them on the River Teifi in Wales.
I have fished for saltwater species in Florida, Tobago, Malaysia and the Bahamas, the south coast of England, and West Wales.
My local fisheries are Frensham Trout Fishery (Robinswood) in Churt and Coltsford Mill in Hurst Green, I can be found there quite regularly especially when my job allows me to do so after work in the spring / summer evenings.
I decided that just fishing was not enough and so with a bit of encouragement from my friend and mentor Trevor I embarked upon the GAIC / LCCA Level 2 course which I completed in 2006. I regularly attend CPD sessions organised by GAIA members to maintain and advance knowledge of casting and techniques. I'm always happy to help the newbies coming through, whilst always willing to learn new stuff.
My best fishing experience was my Honeymoon, as not only did I get the best catch of my life in the shape of my wife Sarah, but I caught Bonefish, Angel Fish, Grouper, Blue Runner and Barracuda all on the fly!
Teaching Ratio – one to one is preferred for max learning but can be extended to one to three (max). – I can call on other contacts to assist for larger groups.
